About Woodside Lane Flowers
I’m Chloe, flower farmer, florist and owner of Woodside Lane Flowers, a cut flower field below Stanley Wood just on the outskirts of King’s Stanley, Gloucestershire. We grow seasonal flowers and foliage specifically for cutting, using methods that respect the land and wildlife around us.
Originally from Stroud, I’ve recently returned after spending the last 20 years in London. I’ve always had a love of growing, but it was during my mid-twenties, as part of a career change that I studied horticulture with the RHS. This led me to study garden design, and then work as a gardener and garden designer for several years.
Some years later I became aware of a flower farmer who lived and worked just a few roads away from me in Walthamstow, London. I ended up working with Treea at London Flower Farmer for 3 years. I’m indebted to her for the experience and knowledge I gained, and it gave me the inspiration to start my own flower farm.
Alongside my work with Treea, I experimented with arranging flowers, grown on my London allotment. Having originally studied illustration and textiles, these disciplines have influenced my floristry. I’ve always found it a joy arranging with flowers, combining their colour, form, texture and scent to make beautiful arrangements.
Now, here at Woodside Lane Flowers we have an acre of land which I’m steadily cultivating, mainly using an organic no dig method that aims to disturb the earth as little as possible. It’s early days, but I’m on an exciting journey discovering what plants are happy and will thrive within the soil and environment. To keep up with progress, follow Woodside Lane Flowers on Instagram.
Do get in touch if you’d like to buy or stock my flowers or have a general flower related enquiry.
